Vitamin D plays an important role in our bodies and in ensuring that they function correctly. However, it’s not found naturally in many foods. But perhaps the easiest and the best way to get vitamin D has to be going out in the sun because our bodies naturally produce vitamin D when our skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays from the sun.

As well as this, in 1991 a study found that people who didn’t have enough vitamin D could be at risk from pain which most pain relievers couldn’t tackle.

So while keeping out of bright lights might be high on a migrainer’s list of things to do, it’s vital that  sufferers make sure that they get some sun and eat foods containing Vitamin D.  It could make more of a difference than you might think.
